On this week’s Not Now, Cato Adrian talks with film & TV editor, Nathan Nugent.
Nathan Nugent may not be a name you’re familiar with you’ve probably seen his work and it will have certainly resonated with you, even if you didn’t know it.
Nathan has worked on some of the best Irish films & TV productions over the last decade including, What Richard Did, Glassland, Frank, and Lenny Abrahamson’s hugely anticipated adaption of Emma Donoghue’s ‘Room’.
Room had it’s world premiere in Telluride earlier this month, was the audience winner at Toronto and according to Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and many other film outlets, it’s one of the front runners in this year’s Academy Awards.
Nathan & Adrian talk about ‘Room’, the structure of a scene, how technology has changed film editing, managing tone, pacing, editorial choices good and bad, assembling rushes and so much more.
To get the full film production perspective, you can listen to Ed Guiney talking with Adrian about film producing and Andrew talking with director Lenny Abrahamson on the 738AM podcast.
