The Retro Asylum is the UK’s number one retro gaming podcast show that looks at gaming culture from a UK perspective. The site regularly features at top of the iTunes chart and sits among some of the industry’s biggest names.

Its output is personality-led and combines conversation, music and stories from back in the day with ‘deep dive’ discussion about popular computer systems such as the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC and Amiga via the Sega Mega Drive and Super Nintendo up to the N64 and Playstation.

In more recent times the show has taken on a role as curators of gaming development tales through its interviews with influential game makers such as John Romero, The Oliver Twins, Dino Dini and Jon Hare. This archiving of stories and in-depth discussion around how video games have evolved has built an ever-growing permanent archive which will be available to future generations of gamers and game developers.
